Zyban or bupropion is used to help people quit smoking by decreasing cravings and withdrawal symptoms. It belongs to a class of medications known as antidepressants so it can also be used to treat depression. It's a prescription medication available in 150 mg slow release tablets. The initial dosage is 150mg and it should be taken daily for 6 days, increasing it on day 7 to 150mg twice daily. Drinking alcohol at the same time may increase the risk of seizures.
